This article about spending in California’s 2014 statewide elections has lots of interesting information, but one especially interesting point is that John Chiang, a Democrat, spent only $24,293 on his election campaign. In November he won with 58.8% of the vote.

Perhaps. But are the wealthy people who bankroll the Super PACS also nitwits because they believe their contributions have an impact on election results…AND (key point)…on those elected officials who get elected AFTER they are elected.
You apparently believe free speech can be measured in dollars, Richard. Do you also believe that intelligence is inversely proportional to wealth?
Richard, it rich people are as stupid as you think they are, don’t you think we should pass laws to protect them from their own ignorance? I mean, if they squander their fortunes on donating gobs of money to Super PACS, with no effect, what will come of their children? Can’t we do something to save those poor waifs from having to conduct job searches?
