Rob Astorino, the Republican nominee for Governor of New York last year, and that creator of the “Stop Common Core Party”, discusses in this interview why he re-named the party the “Reform Party” and what it will stand for. Thanks to Bill Van Allen for the link.
http://reformpartyny.org/ Is there already a Reform Party in New York?
It would be fun to see the remnants of the Reform Party sue Astorino.
How do they plan to work with the current Reform Party in Mississippi? That party is firmly in the clutches of Shawn O’Hara, and the State of Mississippi recognizes Shawn O’Hara as the official leadership. It will take some smart political moves to take control of that name in Mississippi. Then again, Shaw O’Hara may be ready to ask to become the Mississippi Affiliate.
been there done that more than two decades ago.
Perot 92, 96, Golisano, Fulani, UWSA, IPNY, Independence-Fusion Party, Buchanan, etc.
It will be a side show of the greatest proportions watching Shawn O’Hara of the Reform Party of Mississippi and the Astorino Reform Party of New York State working it out so they might support the same presidential candidates working together in 2016. O’Hara has a propensity to want to nominate a member of his family to the highest office of the land, and I don’t think Astorino and O’Hara are blood related that I am aware of. Of course, there is always ways of handing such. The Astorino could form the Remormist Party in Mississippi and leave O’Hara in the dust.
I want to form a Alabama Independent Party in Alabama, but apparently on one in Alabama is interested. All they have to do is contact me at alabamaindependent@charter.net and I’ll be in contact with them ASAP. I would like to believe there are at least 40,000 voters in Alabama who would affiliate with the Alabama Independent Party, but unfortunately, there are not enough people who read this email. Once we get at least 25 people responding, then we can set up a date, place and time to set up a temporary state executive committee. It should steamroll from there, unless too many of them have soled their souls out to the Republican Party or worst yet, the Constitution Party.
I’ll me waiting.
Alabama Independent
I think “Reform Party” is a bad name for a party.
Reform what?
For how long?
Agree, Clay. People who put “thought” into these new party names need to give a little for “thought” to the process.
I never did quite understand several years ago whose bright idea it was to organize the “The Natural Law” Party.
Still haven’t figured out where they got that moniker from.
AI, get involved with the Alabama LP and work to get them to change their name to a more populist-sounding one.
What is the cost to set up a very low tech website — ONE page ??? — using off the shelf web page programs —
i.e. fill the blanks stuff.
