The Kentucky Secretary of State’s office has told independent gubernatorial candidate Drew Curtis that he can only get on the ballot with a paper petition. Curtis was hoping to use electronic signatures, which are permitted for some other state purposes. See this story. So far, no state permits electronic signatures for ballot access.
That is too bad. It makes no sense. See http://jurist.org/forum/2010/08/electronic-signatures-ballot-access-meets-the-internet.php.
Some idiot wanting the nomination to the “American Party” claims that a petition will work. See http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/robinsonforpresident2016
I’ve tried to convince him otherwise, and pointed him to the ballot-access.org site, so hopefully he will get more informed, but given his numerous spelling errors on various postings, plus the fact that he lists his occupation as “crew member at McDonalds,” he doesn’t seem that intelligent.
He’s only received six signatures of his goal of 5,000 since February.
