Working Families Party Now has Organizations in Nine States and D.C.

According to this article, the Working Families now has organizations in nine states and the District of Columbia. The jurisdictions in which it is now organized, but in which it isn’t on the ballot, are New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and D.C. It is a ballot-qualified party in Connecticut, New York, Oregon, and South Carolina.

    Didn’t they try organizing in California a couple of years ago?

  2. No. There was one individual who filed paperwork to make the Working Families Party a political body in California, but he had no connection with the Working Families Party. The years in which the Working Families Party had this status, the WFP only had one registered voter in California. If the actual WFP had tried to qualify in California, it would have probably succeeded.

  3. So, Richard, are you aware of any plans to organize and qualify for the ballot in California? I’m a lifelong resident, living in Orange County, and would like to hook up with some like-minded activists. Drinking Liberally, maybe?

  4. I think the plans to expand the party have shrunk back to nothing. The party recently lost the support of some major unions.
