Don’t get your hopes up. They’ll only do it as some sort of a ratings stunt.
If they give Lessig the time, I doubt it will be any kind of ratings stunt.
More likely, NBC will say, “Okay, send us a 3 minute, 12 second campaign commercial, and we’ll show it at 11:30 PM on a Saturday when ‘Saturday Night Live’ is a repeat and thus isn’t live anyway.” They’re not going to produce any programming with Lessig themselves to satisfy the equal time requirement.

They’ll either claim Lessig isn’t a legitimate candidate, or air it at like 3 in the morning.
@Jed: As mentioned in the article, not only did NBC demand proof that Lessig is a legitimate candidate, they also demanded that Lessig prove that Hillary Clinton is a legitimate candidate.
