The Virginia deadline for candidates petitioning to get on a presidential primary ballot is Thursday, December 10. On December 4, Bernie Sanders became the first Democrat to submit a petition. This story says he submitted 17,882. The requirement is 5,000.
Richard, do you know if a candidate has ever won the nomination of a major party without registering as a member of that party? Or identifying with the party on FEC paperwork?
Wow, talk about overkill with the number of signatures they submitted. 17,882 signatures to meet a requirement of only 5,000. That’s an insane amount of padding.
Yes Bernie I’m jumping up and down.well not really cause I’m not able. But I’m smiling real hard..
