Bill Kristol said recently, “I do think an independent candidate might be able to win the presidency (assuming the major party nominees are Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton) if they just get some decent, calm, soft spoken guy or woman who wants to do the right thing for the country.” He was then asked if that is realistic. He said, in response, “It’s very unlikely, but I don’t think it’s quite as out of the question as everyone else thinks.” See this story.
Kristol is a knucklehead. Maybe a 3rd party emergence of an establishment Republican, but not a true independent candidacy.
The joke, for those who don’t want to bother with the link (and it’s not worth it — the summary here is sufficient — is that he “loves” Dick Cheney as that indie candidate.
This man is the worthless son of a worthless father and a worthless mother.
Brad & Richard Grayson have evidently never read Kristol’s “The Weekly Standard” magazine which is an excellent publication with
fine analysis of both Republican and Democratic developments.
LOL no it isn’t.
Kristol’s got a truly exceptional record of blown predictions and stupid statements out there, so this is for entertainment value only.
@brad m: It’s not surprising to think that a major independent candidacy would come from someone heretofore associated with the Republican Party, although I don’t think that it will actually happen in 2016. Many of the most successful independent/third party candidacies in presidential elections were by candidates who were former Democrats or Republicans (Teddy Roosevelt, Robert La Follette, Strom Thurmond, Henry Wallace, George Wallace, John Anderson), and some of those candidates soon returned to the party they had came from.
“some decent, calm, soft spoken guy or woman who wants to do the right thing for the country.” – sounds like Lyndon LaRouche.
Jeff Becker that was beyond hillarious
