California Secretary of State Amends April Report of Registration to Include Reform Party, Which has 14,634 Registrants

The California Secretary of State has revised the latest registration data. The original “Report of Registration”, issued May 12, did not have current data for the Reform Party, but now it does. It also now includes the Constitution Party. See the revised version here.

The Reform Party has 14,634 registered members. Although this is far short of the 60,000 or so needed to qualify for the presidential ballot, it is still a substantial showing. The deadline for the Reform Party, or any other group, to attain the goal is July 11.

California Secretary of State Amends April Report of Registration to Include Reform Party, Which has 14,634 Registrants — 16 Comments

  1. It’s actually 14,634 for the Reform Party. There are 15,059 registered to all unqualified parties combined.

  2. My telecom to the Election Division worked. I got them to look into the report again.

  3. It look like the Constitution Party is growing in membership from 338 on January 5, 2016 to April 8, 2016 to 340 electors. That is a net increase of two elects in just over 3 months. Dr. Don Grundmann, First
Chairman, of that party has moved upward in member electors in just over three months.

I am still trying to confirm the earliest date that Dr. Don Grundmann was a member of the State Central
Committee of AIP. We know is last date on the State Central Committee was on September 2, 2008.

Sincerely, Mark Seidenberg, Chairman, American Independent Party of California.

Since William “Bill” Lussenheide failed on May 4, 2016 in Sacramento, CA. Any word if he is going to appeal to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Sincerely, Mark Seidenberg, Chairman, American Independent Party of California

  4. Richard Winger,

Kevin Ramage is correct you need to change number to 14,634. Also should be noted that a lot of people registered as “Independent” have re-registered from the Independent label out in California.

  5. J. R. Myers for President 2016

Just dexter of the Russian named naval base show on Wrangell Island (formerly known as New Columbia Land), Alaska is a location that was called “Petkatkun”. Petkatkun is the name of a forced labor concentration camp that the NKVD opened just after WW2 keep Italian Prisoners of War, and not return them to Italy when the war ended. Since Wrangell Island became part of Alaska on May 17, 1884, the GULAG for Italian Prisoners of War was in the Territory of Alaska.

It was not until mid July, 2014, the the Russia Government returned the last of the Prisoner of War back to Germany. Said prisoner was in a GULAG for over 69 years. That was because the Stalin claimed that this 14 year old German killed his son in 1945.

I have seen no interview of R. Runze since he returned from the GULAG system in Russia for almost
70 years. His camp history will be interesting.

Sincerely, Mark Seidenberg, Chairman, American Independent Party of California

  6. Here is a message that I posted on Facebook on 5-5-16 (and on this website on 5-6-16): “To all decent, good, patriotic, Republicans in California: Now that the Republican Party race is pretty much over, you still have a chance to help make a real difference this year. Please consider changing your voter registration to the Democratic Party right away so that you can cast your presidential vote for U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders on June 7, 2016. The Democratic Party is still a “big tent” political party (like the Republican Party used to be when we baby boomers were coming of age in the 60’s and 70’s). The Democratic Party is the oldest and largest political party in our beautiful, great country. It has room for people of many political persuasions — from democratic socialists, social democrats, and liberals on the left to moderates and pragmatists in the center to fiscal conservatives and social conservatives on the right. What do you have to lose? The Republican Party is well on the way to becoming a truly minor-sized political party. Sure, you could change to the American Independent Party or the Libertarian Party. However, I do think that most Republicans would be more comfortable in the Democratic Party.”

  7. When the Reform Party (re)qualified in 1999 they had 86,558 registrants. By the last report when they were qualified in 2002 they were down to 58,482.

    2004: 45,610
    2006: 33,795
    2008: 28,735
    2010: 26,760
    2012: 20,722
    2014: 16,377
    2016: 14,634

There were substantial increases since 2014 in Kern, Fresno, and Orange counties. But that has happened in the past, only to disappear in subsequent reports.

  8. Thanks to all the commenters for pointing out that the true Reform total is 14,634.

  9. @Mark Seidenberg,

This was largely due a drop in Alameda County. I wonder if they decided to unilaterally change “Independent” registrations to “No Party Preference”

Now Sierra County is the county with the highest percentage of voters with preferences for other parties. Bravo Sierra!

  10. Jim Riley,

I will look at Alameda County. One problem with Alameda County is the ROV thinks the name of the largest political party in California as the “Democrat” party and not the “Democratic” party. See that ROV website.

I think lots of counties are looking at that issue since William “Bill” Lussenheide filed his lawsuit on
February 16, 2016 in Sacramento. He should be happy the Constitution Party is now up in membership
to 340 from 338 of just over 3 month earlier.

The good news those 340 elector could ask for a American Independent Party ballot at the next election.

I am a recovering Republican, if you want to find a new party home join the AIP by May 23, 2016.

  11. Green registration has dropped 9.3% from the 154-day report to the 63-day report (and there was still another 1-1/2 to change registration before the primary)

  12. Jim Riley,

It is the 60 day report not the 63 day report.

    Mark Seidenberg

P.S. What do you think the Constitution Party of California going to due now since there registration stands at 340 electors?

  13. Jim Riley,

My guess the issue in Alameda County was those voters as other party stated: “Np Party Preference”
or “Declined to State” were moved to NPP on the status column. I do not think they changed “Independent”
    in Alameda County also.

    Mark Seidenberg
