It doesn’t matter. When you vote for a candidate, you also vote for delegates themselves. Those individual delegates may state there preference, and are usually endorsed by a campaign.

Even if the delegates were “bound,” they’re still human beings who can choose to go against that binding. Not sure what the penalty would be.
Doris is right. IF those delegates ignore the people who took
the time to vote in the 50 states then the Republican party
will be dead.
