See this story, which says that Nina Turner, a former Ohio state legislator, and until very recently an active supporter of Bernie Sanders, may accept the Green Party vice-presidential nomination.
The Green Party national convention starts August 6 in Houston. Thanks to Phil Huckelberry for the link.
Interesting choice
Frankly, I think Turner would make a superior Pres candidate. I think Turner should not be Stein’s VP candidate. It just gives Stein undo legitimacy, and it would not be a very good use of Turner’s intellect and speaking talents.
If Turner is not going to run for Pres, she should consider running for Governor of Ohio as an independent or Pfrogressive. imo
Oh, never mind. For a minute there, I thought it was Tina Turner, but then I remembered that she is now a Swiss citizen… but then again, that didn’t stop a number of recent candidates.
Howie Hawkins should get it.
That’s actually a good choice.
This may be to attract disaffected Democrats who were unhappy that Hillary chose someone other than an Elizabeth Warren for the Number Two slot.
And folks who were unhappy with how Turner was treated in Philadelphia, perhaps.
Politics1 is now reporting she turned it down.
