The Washington Secretary of State has determined that the petitions of five presidential candidates are valid: those of the Constitution, Green, Libertarian, Socialism & Liberation, and Socialist Workers Parties. The Secretary of State rejected independent presidential candidate Rocky De La Fuente. He probably had enough valid signatures, but he didn’t give notice before starting the petition drive.
I think a measure of success for candidates like Johnson and Stein will be whether or not they can consistently finish ahead of smaller campaigns that aren’t on the ballot on many states but that are on the ballot in some states. If Johnson never finishes behind the Constitution Party, for example, that is an achievement. Also, getting more votes than there are blank or spoiled ballots. That’s important.
I think thats a given for Johnson. He could approach 10% nationally. First sitting Congressman just endorsed him.
