On August 11, a 3-judge U.S. District Court struck down North Carolina’s legislative districts as an unconstitutional racial gerrymander. Covington v State, m.d., 1:15cv-399. The opinion is by Judge James A. Wynn, an Obama appointee. It was also signed by Judge Thomas D. Schroeder, a Bush Jr. appointee, and Catherine Eagles, an Obama appointee. The decision says that the state need not redraw the districts this year, so as not to disturb the 2016 election. Thanks to Rick Hasen for the link.
The lawyer and judge math MORONS in the various gerrymander case since 1964 (repeat 1964) can NOT detect that —
1/2 or less votes x 1/2 totally rigged packed/cracked gerrymander districts = 1/4 or less CONTROL = OLIGARCHY.
BLATANT subversions of the Republican Form of Govt in Art. IV, Sec. 4 and the Equal Protection Clause in 14th Amdt, Sec. 1.
Thus one more major step on the long road to Civil WAR II — by the nonstop perversion of 15th Amdt, Sec. 1 (which ONLY involves the definition of Elector-Voter in the States — and NOT anything else).
I.E. What New Age federal judge is NOT a *politically correct* ABSOLUTE TOTAL ROBOT PARTY H-A-C-K ???

IMO, redistricting can and should be done by mathematical formula. FOr instance, in a state like NOrth Carolina, all the counties can be ranked by population, and any county below the minimum to qualify for a representative can be combined with the adjacent county with the least population, and such combination can continue until all the representatives have been distributed. Any populous county which has a population which qualifies it for two or more members would be a multi-member district. I over-simplify, but I think that the concept is valid. Is there any real world example that anyone can think of?
Each State or local legislative body exists ONLY because ALL of the Electors-Voters in the area involved can NOT meet in person.
ALL single member district schemes are automatic gerrymanders —
1/2 votes x 1/2 districts = 1/4 CONTROL.
