The Denver Post has this op-ed, documenting the large proportion of state legislative races in the United States that have only one candidate on the ballot. This is not a problem in Colorado, and the column notes that. But it is a big problem in many other states.

No one is either willing to run or ballot access laws are strict.I cam see why no one wants to run.Some districts vote one way.There needs to be a way to bring more competitiveness in the elections.Elections should be a free market of ideas.And a competition of ideas.Also more open media.Like Eric Alterman who writes or wrote for thw Nation Magazine advocates.

  3. Robot party HACK oligarchs in ALL of the gerrymander major legislative bodies in the USA — USA H. Reps. , USA Senate (semi-permanent), ALL 99 houses in ALL 50 State legislatures, many local regimes – esp. city and county govts.

    Will the OLIGARCHS start Civil WAR II after the MONSTER Clinton or Trump becomes Prez ???– Stay tuned.
