On November 21, a 3-judge U.S. District Court struck down Wisconsin’s 2011 redistricting plan for the Assembly, the lower house of the legislature. Whitford v Gill, w.d., 3:15cv-421. Here is the opinion, which was 2-1. The opinion is by Judge Kenneth F. Ripple, a Reagan appointee. It is co-signed by Judge Barbara Crabb, a Carter appointee. The dissent, which is 40 pages, is by Judge William Griesbach, a Bush Jr. appointee.
The plaintiffs are voters who identify with the Democratic Party. Because this was a 3-judge court, the state’s only appeal is to the U.S. Supreme Court, which is very likely to accept the case. Thanks to Rick Hasen for the link.

For those seriously defective (i.e. brain dead IGNORANT) about gerrymander math (about 99 plus percent of the population — who are brainwashed about AREA gerrymanders) —-
1/2 or less votes x 1/2 totally rigged gerrymander areas = 1/4 or less control = OLIGARCHS in control in their meetings behind closed doors in legislative bodies.
In reality the top gangsters try to have gerrymander winners in their gang getting 55 or more percent —
Result about 28 percent REAL minority rule.
It shows nonstop in USA political history — genocide of American Indians, slavery, undeclared wars, insane govt annual and accumulated debts, dying cities, dying older suburbs, urban sprawl, oppression of minorities, etc. etc. — ALL the stuff that oligarchs do when THEY are in control.

I can only base my impression and opinion of Demo Rep in relation to his posts, which to me seems like a lot of noise.
But if you say he adds value to this site in another fashion then I put a lot of weight on your comment.
There are about 5 of 50 States where one major gang gets a majority of the votes but only gets a minority of the gerrymander seats in the State legislature involved.
For the various clueless folks —- Democracy = MAJORITY RULE — nothing more, nothing less.
Democracy is NOT necessarily *social justice*, *economic justice* or whatever justice
— i.e. the usual suspects have perverted the word *Democracy* the same way they have been perverting all sorts of stuff since 1776.
Many, if not all, sections in the various Bills of Rights have been due to the actions of the various ANTI-Democracy monarchs and gerrymander oligarchs in the past
— i.e. esp. the old rotted British monarchs and the gangsters in the UK regime who controlled the British House of Lords and the House of Commons (which was a giant gerrymander mess by 1761-1776 – with its many low low population *rotten boroughs*).

The case will get MAJOR attention when it goes to SCOTUS.
This one appears to fall under the mandatory jurisdiction of the Supreme Court (as opposed to certiorari), so very likely it will go up. Could be huge.
