All Presidential Election Returns Expected by Friday, December 16

The California Secretary of State’s webpage says the official election returns will be released on December 16, Friday. When that happens, it should be possible for all the presidential votes to be known nationwide.

Only on December 16 will the public know how many write-ins Bernie Sanders received in California, and how many Evan McMullin received in California. Those two bits of information are the most interesting election returns that are still unknown.

  1. “Only on December 16 will the public know how many write-ins Bernie Sanders received in California, and how many Evan McMullin received in California. Those two bits of information are the most interesting election returns that are still unknown.”

Richard, one can not judge what is and what is not significant until one actually views the results. The overarching fact is you will need a microscope to read their numbers. This in a state where the Republicans are so weak they couldn’t beat a drum yet trying to peel off voters from the Dominant Party habit is like pulling teeth. The Greens received a measly 277,000 votes in a state with 4.85 Million people registered as Decline to State. This while Jill Stein is running around campaigning in Texas, a state that hasn’t voted for a Democrat Presidential Candidate in 40 years. Then they wonder why they can’t qualify for Federal Matching Funds to set up a national party structure. The incompetence is mind boggling !

  2. Bob, you’re barking up the wrong tree. The Democrats ran an incredibly effective fear campaign against us Greens. Although we’re not perfect by any means, our showing in CA isn’t incompetence so much as it is a sign that fear (and money) instead of reason and belief are what drive elections here in America, even in states such as CA.

  3. People are willing to support us getting on the ballot (remember that Jill was on the ballot in more states this year than even Ralph Nader was in 2000), but when it comes time to vote, that support disappears in favor of the “lesser of the two evils”.

  4. It’s very possible that Gary Johnson will pass the 4.5 million vote mark by then; his total vote count nationally as of Wednesday is 4,487,692.

  5. Jill Stein did qualify for primary season matching funds in both 2012 and 2016. “Matching funds” only exists in primary season. I think Bob M. was referring to general election funding, which is not “matching” but instead is based on election percentages.

  6. Joshua H : “People are willing to support us getting on the ballot (remember that Jill was on the ballot in more states this year than even Ralph Nader was in 2000), but when it comes time to vote, that support disappears in favor of the “lesser of the two evils”.”

In 1996 The Greens along with Nader ran a Presidential Campaign in 21 States (3 as Green 18 as Independent) plus 17 states as a Write-in. the Nader-Green Campaign garnered 685,000 votes with their biggest state being California with 237,000 votes.

In 2016 the Greens ran Stein for the second time. They received 1.4 Million Votes with their top state being once again California at 277,000 votes. As was pointed out elsewhere on this website The Greens had a theoretical possibility of picking up Ballot Status in 7 States this year which is paltry considering they only have Ballot Status in 21 States. The Greens picked up Ballot Status in a grand total of 2 states for a Grand total of 23 States. Which still isn’t at the level they had before the 2004 Debacle.

The kicker to this story is in 1996 The Nader-Green Campaigned filed as a Grassroots which means they did not spend 5000 Dollars for that Campaign. So Jill Stein spent 3.5 Million Dollars in 2016 to chalk up an additional 735,000 votes nationally and an extra 40,000 votes in its largest state. This over the course of 20 years. That’s progress ? Truth be known very little of the money spent in the Stein Campaign went to actual campaigning. Most of it went into hiring Signature Gathers so Stein could buy her way on to the ballot. Getting on the Ballot is not a function of public support it is a function of money. That is why Stein’s Campaign fell apart. The support was never there in the first place.

When the California Write-in Totals are released Friday it will be interesting to see if Sanders out Polls Stein.

  7. Stein got enough votes in Kansas to have made the Green Party ballot-qualified, except that she was on as an independent, not as a Green, so her votes don’t count for retention.

  8. How much crushing of left/right minor parties in left/right State HACK regimes about to happen —

after those COMMAND orders from Devil City.

Immediately at stake in Fed elections is about 1-5 TRILLION dollars in taxes/borrowing/spending for the various HACK gangsters.
