Are there a lot of candidates compared to previous years?
Their website had a different method for showing this information that made it easy to count the numbers of candidates. The new method doesn’t make this easy. This leads to my question — how many candidates do they have listed as running? I’m curious as to their progress towards their goal of 2000 candidates running for office.
By my count they have 367, which would put them at 18.35% of their 2000 candidates goal. Back on January 11th, they had 312 candidates. So they’re somewhat up in the past few weeks.
I count 374 listed there now for 2018, and 1 has already been removed because the election is over.
On 1/29/16 there were 153 listed and they ended up with around 624.
On 1/29/14 there were 233 listed and they ended up with around 741.
Thank you. Extrapolating that out, you would get a minimum of approximately 1200 candidates, and a maximum of 1525, based on those 2014 and 2016 figures. It’s short of their 2000 goal, but a huge improvement. Of course, past results are no predictor of future performance.
Georgia’s is incomplete, we 3 other candidates petitioning for US House

In case anyone was interested, the count as of today is 602. That doesn’t include two special election candidates whose elections were last month. Hopefully, there are a lot more to come.
You spelled CJ Abernathey (South Dakota) wrong.
It’s with an “E”.
Abernathey, not Abernathy.
I just won the nomination to represent the Libertarian Party in the November election for U.S. Congressional District 15. http://www.CristoForCongress.com
