On August 23, all four candidates for U.S. House from South Dakota debated each other at Dakotafest, in Mitchell. They were Republican Dusty Johnson, Democrat Tim Bjorkman, Libertarian George Hendrickson, and independent Ron Wieczorek. Wieczorek is a supporter of Lyndon Larouche’s movement. See this story.
I don’t think I will ever fully understand the Larouche movement, but congrats on holding a proper debate for this office. I’ve always thought that it should be mandatory for a debate to happen that has every ballot-qualified candidate there, period, for any and every office in this country. I don’t quite understand why we have partisan elections for coroners here in Indiana, and granted, I’ve never seen the Republican coroners have any general election opponents, but if/when they do, hold a debate. An election with no debate between all candidates is inherently wrong to me.
