Democrats now control both houses of the New York legislature, for the first time in decades. There is talk that the New York legislature may pass a bill eliminating fusion. See this New York Post op-ed piece.

ANY *CON*-fusion between RED communist Donkeys and Blue/Black fascist Elephants in NY ???
Total escape of capitalism from NY City — banks/stock market ???
Bad idea. The New York Republican Party used to be an ideological clone of the Democratic Party (thus the term “Rockefeller Republican.”) It is only through “fusion” — the ability of minor parties, specifically in this case the Conservative Party, to cross-endorse, that the voters were given an actual philosophical choice. Now with the Libertarian Party qualifying, the options open a little wider, so they have to close off cross-endorsement to keep the coalition of Republicans and third parties from mounting any kind of real opposition.
This is utterly fascistic.
IF NO con-fusion —
then more or less easy for gerrymander CONTROL in 2021-2022 for RED Donkeys ?? Duh.

Banning fusion is a great idea. If your party is so bad you can’t even find your own candidate, you should not exist.
New York should ban party nominations entirely. Let candidates qualify as individuals, by demonstrating the support of 0.1% of gubernatorial vote.
5792 for statewide office, 215 average for congressional, 92 for senate, 39 for assembly. Supporters would show up at courthouses to be counted.
Party registration should be set to Blank for all voters. Require majority for election.
