States can pick any method they want to determine their electors. From tossing a coin to the nationwide popular vote winner to whoever the state legislature likes best, whether that person is running or not. It’s in the Constitution.
So sad the citizens of Colorado have decided to turn their votes over to the states of CA, NY, TX, OH and FL. The NPV takes away the votes of smaller less populated states and lets the more radical states determine who wins. It is not a one person one vote system, it actually erases every vote cast in that state. Too bad the population didn’t understand what they were doing. So sad.
