Next year, the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire will hold its own presidential primary. All party members will be postally mailed a ballot, with a return envelope for which the postage has been pre-paid. Every voter who returns the ballot will then get a postcard, acknowledging that the ballot has been received and counted. The ballots will be due by the date of the party’s state convention, which is January 11, 2020.
The New Hampshire Libertarian Party is not ballot-qualified. When it was ballot-qualified, in 1992 and 1996, it used the government-administered presidential primary.
ESTIMATED COST PER BALLOT ???
COST PER BALLOT IN OREGON — WITH ALL PAPER MAIL BALLOTS ???
I lived in Oregon for four years. All Oregon elections are done by mail. I think it is a great system. Voter participation was over 85% in each Oregon election that I voted. I am glad that the New Hampshire Libertarian party is going postal.
1) Convention is Jan 11
2) Party members who are eligible to be delegates will get ballots
3) we’re not mailing post cards to those who return ballots — however that is a good idea!
NOOO more need for caucuses, primaries and conventions.
MAIL ballots will allow for Condorcet — advanced Head-to-Head Number Voting.
RCV done correctly.
The more interesting aspects are that:
(1) Participation in the NH exercise qualifies candidates for the California ballot;
(2) They will use Bucklin to count the votes, though their website is short on details.
