New York Times Endorses Ranked-Choice Voting for New York City Primaries and Special Elections — 6 Comments

  1. I’m amazed the NYT endorsed it for any sort of election outside the ruling party primaries, since RCV has the “risk” of allowing people to vote their beliefs and conscience (which many Gallup polls have shown include a desire to see a third or more parties in government) and thus weaken the NYT and other corporate/propagandist media’s precious two-party state. Maybe some people among said media are realizing that they’re going to have to concede some ground and reform the electoral system.

  2. The now monarch/oligarch TOTAL ROT in the USA is due to an EVIL combination of ANTI-Democracy minority rule gerrymanders [since day 1 in 1776] and UNEQUAL ballot access laws [since official ballots in 1888-1890] and all sorts of violations of Separation of Powers.

New York City has the Donkey RED communist result.

  3. I’m glad that this is happening, but why is it that electoral reform is the one thing that ALWAYS has to be done by referendum. Not just here, but also in Canada and the UK.

  4. TY-

The other R word may also happen in the USA — since the USA courts [full of party HACKS] are soooooo brain dead about 4-4 RFG and 14-1 EPC in election cases.

Canada and the UK may internally blow up for own special reasons.
