The Socialist Party will hold its national convention October 25-26, in Newark, New Jersey. Two individuals are actively seeking the presidential nomination. They are Howie Hawkins of Syracuse, New York; and Elijah Manley of Florida. Hawkins is also seeking the Green Party nomination.
Manley is either 20 years old, or 21 years old, and is a college student.
The Socialist Party convention will first vote on whether to have a presidential nominee. If that decision is to have a presidential nominee, then the convention will choose a nominee. That will happen on Saturday, October 26.
Perhaps they can just endorse the Socialist Labor Party’s nominee! 😉
They could just endorse the Democrat, depending on who it is.
Who needs ANY left/socialist/commie/progressive faction party since the REDS took over the Donkey party in 1932-1933 ???
It shows — USA/States/Locals debts will be about $$$ 40 Trillion in Nov 2020 —
— IE THE all time national bankruptcy coming shortly.
USA GDP – now about $ 20 Trillion — about $ 2 Trillion more in Govt debts in 2019.
TOTAL corruption and econ insanity by the gerrymander HACKS in ALL govts.
This Elijah Manley character is too young to qualify for the office (you must be at least 35 years of age as of inauguration day).
I am very surprised there isn’t someone else publicly vying for this. While a Green/Socialist fusion would be interested, I’m still not convinced it’d be good for the SPUSA.
And Bob, this is true, but it wouldn’t be the first time a socialist party has nominated someone too young to serve e.g. PSL’s Peta Lindsay in 2012, I believe.
