Ross Barkan has this very extensive article on the history of the New York Working Families Party, in the publication City and State. The article’s title is not descriptive of the article itself.

Name change from olde NY RED communist party
— since too many FBI spies to count in such olde party ???
Actually, the Working Families Party was the New Party.
Followed the link in that City and State article to the Time article about the harassment that the WFP leaders endured after the announcement that the WFP was endorsing Warren rather than Sanders. Yikes. Tons of racism against black staffers. Telling a rape survivor that they were glad it happened. Threats of violence. The refusal to admit that such hateful and disturbing comments could have come from leftists was amusing, though. They blamed it on right wing agitators and bots.
“the most prominent and powerful third party in New York’s history”
Uh, ever heard of the Conservative Party?
