On November 20, thirty-nine Democratic state legislators from New York sent a letter to the Commission on Public Funding. The letter asks the Commission to only recommend changes to the campaign finance laws.
The Commission has recently shown interest in making it more difficult for groups to qualify as political parties, which was not their mandate. The Commission’s recommendations will become law unless the legislature re-convenes in December 2019 and vetoes them.
Where is the commission’s website?
How many of the 39 legislators voted for the legislation establishing the commission?
How many State Consts permit such *commissions* – NOT elected by the People/Voters ???
So if they release their recommendations on Dec 31st, they automatically become law the next day?
The Commission must issue its report by December 1, 2019.
It’s rumored that they will issue their regulations on Thanksgiving. A turkey with all the stuffing.
@DR,
That is the basis of the lawsuit by the Conservative Party, and the Republican defendants. Working Family Party is content with the commission making law with respect to public funding, but not anything to do with con-fusion.

NAME OF COMM —
New York State Public Campaign Financing Commission
@DR,
That isn’t it. That’s an advocacy group.
I had found the actual website, which was quite modest. The video of their first meeting was shot with a cellphone, but I know there was video of later meetings. But it seems to have disappeared among all the news articles.
Does the Comm meet at midnight in a NY City subway — with the lights turned off ???
