Precinct caucuses in Iowa choose delegates to county conventions. The county conventions serve as vacancy bodies for the party. County convention delegates serve two-year terms. The convention can be reconvened as necessary.
The precinct caucus as a whole ratifies the slate of county delegates. That vote is recorded on a sheet that includes the names of the county delegates that is sent to the county auditor.
Iowa has grafted presidential nomination onto this process, by allocating county delegates to supporters of the presidential candidates. Instead of electing Grant Wood to the county convention, they elect Grant Wood, the Biden backer.
The worksheets document the process of selecting the county delegastes. It is signed by the precinct chair, the precinct secretary, and a representative of each candidate who received delegates. There is a warning that any misrepresentation is subject to penalty under Iowa election law.
