While, I oppose top-two, I think that this opinion piece is written too much from a partisan perspective. The opponents need to explain how top-two is not beneficial to the electorate in general.

“In America we have the right of association with whomever we choose. If you wish to retain independent voter registration, that is your choice.”
You can politically associate with whomever you choose, so long as you register with the government! If you want to associate with certain persons to support Jack for senator, you are free to do so, but if you want to associate with other persons you are not free to do so.
What other freedoms does John Linden want to regulate?
