Two Democratic Voters File Lawsuit in Florida State Court, Asking that Votes for Bernie Sanders Not be Counted

Two Democratic voters in Florida have filed a lawsuit in state court, arguing that votes for Bernie Sanders should not be counted in the March 2020 primary because Sanders is not a Democrat. 1. I don’t think this will hold up. First, there are states that don’t have party registration. How do you determine to which party a Presidential candidate from such states belong? Second, IMO, it’s up to each party to decide whether or not a candidate is eligible to run in its primary. This doesn’t appear to be a lawsuit from the State Committee of the Democratic Party, so I don’t think the filers have standing.
