Utah Governor Refuses to Ease Primary Petition Requirements

Utah Governor Gary Herbert has refused to reduce primary petition requirements, even though he has already used his authority to revise another election law. He suspended the need for candidates to file in person. See this story. The story says a lawsuit is possible.

  1. It seems to be that many state election authorities are using the virus crisis to advance the major party candidates as expeditiously as possible to the ballot, and simply to ignore independent and third party candidates as irrelevant
