On May 21, the Peace & Freedom Party of California executive committee said that it had surveyed the state central committee, and knows that a majority support Gloria La Riva for President and Leonard Peltier for vice-president. La Riva had won the party’s presidential primary on March 3.
Gloria La Riva has been a nominee in 2008, 2016, and now 2020 for either the PSL and/or PFP. She was even on the ballot in 2012 in several states. Those two parties risk becoming parties centered around a personality and may face the same consequences the Reform party had after Perot left.
Could someone explain what’s so great about La Riva?
What would you like to know?
Why do these parties keep nominating her?
Because Linda Jenness is too old.
At one time maybe ten years ago they were trying to become a national party again. Is that still happening, and if so how is it going?
I’ve not heard that PFP is trying to become a national party in 2020. It’s just a vehicle for putting the PSL presidential candidate on the ballot in California at this point. I am sure La Riva will be on the ballot in other states as the PSL nominee.
