On August 13, the Mayor of Washington, D.C., signed B23-0864. It lowers the number of signatures for independent presidential candidates, and the presidential nominees of unqualified parties, from approximately 5,000 signatures, to exactly 250 signatures. The law only pertains to the 2020 election.
Great.
This is permanent for all future presidential elections??
The Constitutional amendment that allowed DC to choose Presidential electors only states that it is up to Congress to determine how they are chosen. IMO, they ought to allow all US citizens who don’t reside in any state (DC, the territories, US expats, and military abroad) to vote for DC electors.
How soon before ALL the world votes for 23 AMDT DC Prez Electors — esp if the RED commie NPV scheme takes effect somehow ???

Brad, no, unfortunately, it is just for 2020. It is because of the health crisis.
Richard,
Does this bill change the deadline for submitting petitions for 2020?
no. I think the Mayor waited until after the deadline because she didn’t want Kanye West to hear about it and to file a petition. But I am just speculating.
They really think the health crisis will be over by 2024?
