  1. States de facto dead due to SCOTUS subversions of 1-8-1 general welfare cl, 1-8-3 inter-state comm cl and 10 Amdt.

    When zillion messes end- if BAN/RW NOT exhausted — compile more BAN tables by States / DC —

    USA Prez
    USA VP [now that even some VP candidates are NOT showing up}
    USA Sens
    USA Reps

    with abbrevs — D,R,LP, etc.

    Likely overload for FEC to do lists correctly BEFORE election day 2020.

  2. Interesting considering that they left their presidential nomination blank. Clearly they didn’t want ol’ Don Blankenbooney dragging their candidates down.

  3. The LP is collapsing just like the Constitution party, just not as fast. Even states with very easy ballot access have few Libertarian candidates.

  4. Rubbish, the LP is not collapsing. They constantly have ballot access to all the U.S. states. No other third party has that. They always are third best in the election after Perot had his decent runs. They had Justin Amash that was a congressman. Sure he was elected as a Republican yet he was persuaded to change his affiliation as a Libertarian instead of as an lndependent. Perhaps in the next Presidential election, a famous billionaire like Mark Cuban could be persuaded to run or Justin Amash. We will see..

  5. I don’t really care about state wide or local elections with regards third parties only the presidential elections with regards to them. With regards to Congress l root for the Republican Party. Perhaps you are right With regards to LP on a local level but these issues are not my cup of tea.

  6. The Libertarians will have 113 candidates running for the House in November, compared to 112 in 2018 and 116 in 2016. That’s stagnation but not decline.

  7. By my count, 2 years ago the LP had the 3rd highest number of candidates it ever ran, behind only 2000 and 2002. One down year does not make a trend, especially when there are other reasons people may not wish to run this year.

    There are generally more candidates in the mid term elections than in presidential years just because of the election schedule. Example – there are something like 11 elections for Governor in Presidential years compared to 36 in mid term years. Over the last 25 years the LP has averaged 104 non-federal statewide candidates in midterm years compared to 51 in Presidential years. For local elections in 2008, 2012, and 2016, the LP averaged 137 candidates. For local elections in 2010, 2014, and 2018, the LP averaged 228 candidates.
