Legal Marijuana Now Party Asks U.S. District Court in Minnesota to Uphold State Law on Timing of U.S. House Election

A U.S. District Court will hear arguments today (Wednesday October 7) in Craig v Simon, 0:20cv-2066. This is the case in which the Democratic Party nominee for U.S. House, 2nd district, is trying to overturn a state law that says the election for that seat should be postponed to February 9, 2021.

On October 6, the state chair of the Legal Marijuana Now Party, Tim Davis, filed a declaration in the case. It says the party nominated a replacement candidate on October 4, Paula Overby. The replacement is necessary because the Legal Marijuana Party Now’s original nominee died on September 21, which is the cause of the postponement of the election.

The Davis declaration points out that the Democratic Party nominee, the plaintiff, did not notify the Legal Marijuana Now Party that she had filed her lawsuit. It also points out that if the Democratic nominee wins the lawsuit, and the election for this seat is held on November 3, that the Legal Marijuana Now Party’s new nominee won’t be on the ballot.

  1. FILED REPLACEMENT TOO LATE ???

    REFORM — CANDIDATE/INCUMBENT REPLACEMENT LISTS.

NOOO SPECIAL ELECTIONS IN GERRYMANDER AREAS.

  2. If the state ballot monopoly didn’t print the names of candidates on the ballot, but voters were free to write-in names, no delay would be necessary. If a candidate dies on Election Day it is the same as a voter dying before they can cast their ballot on Election Day. Such events could be mitigated by write-in ranked choice voting. A voter could rank several candidates of the same party or any party or no party for an office and if one or more candidates died the votes would transfer to the next ranked living candidate.

  3. No way to the bogus one-party system that the Libertarian Party bosses brought in 2020 and now 2024. No can do the one-party and two-party voting systems. See limited voting method and Ogle Method too.

The United Coalition has elected one excellent Unity Platform Item and taking votes on new Los Angeles County Mini-state Election too:

Marked Paper Ballot #e-aps-22 by James Ogle on 8/6/2020:

    1. Ranked choice voting (RCV): All voting and vote counting shall be in the form of ranked paper ballots only (and eballots when practical and verifiable).

Consecutive numbers beginning with the #s 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. etc. must always be used when marking on (e)ballot of all names and decision-items. Deviation from this guideline #1 will disqualify the ballot, and the ballot will be marked “SPOILED”, separated from the stack of ballots with numerical purity and only the pure stack after being separated from the spoiled ballots are considered democratically legit.

    2. Election of Names Under Pure Proportional Representation (PPR) – The Election of names are only held in multiple-winner election districts of two or more only using limited voting with no exceptions.

Limited voting using “Xs” brings semi-proportional results and limited voting using ranked choice votes (RCV) brings pure proportional representation (PPR).

Limited voting is used where there are fewer votes cast per voter than there are open seats at-large. By using ranked choice voting (RCV) each paper ballot is one whole vote, one-man-per-vote and each uses the single transferable vote (STV).

There are two equations involved that are used for PPR. First is the Hagenbach-Bishoff Method with the Hare or Droop Quotas and the second is the single transferable vote (STV).

    3. Elections of Decision-items – Many decision-items may be ranked simultaneously to save time and that’s where each numeral starting with #1 is like one whole vote. Any item attaining 50% plus one vote or more is considered approved “by the team”.

In decision-making items, ranked choice voting (RCV) is always used, with no exceptions.

There is no STV when using RCV with decision-items.

In cases of ties, we add the sum of all numerals (or “tics”), and the item(s) in a tie with the lowest sum of rankings gets prioritized above items with larger sums of the rankings. This system is known as “Ogle Method” or “Count the Tics”.

  4. Google is evil and must and will be punished severely. TRUMP will eliminate marijuana and the marijuana cult once and for all. SOON.

  5. Marijuana and other illegal drug users will be punished severely. They will pick cotton like the slaves of old under the overseers bullwhips and work around the clock chained to factory machines making Confederate flags from that cotton, and those flags will fly everywhere.
