Tampa Bay Times Recommends a “No” Vote on Florida Top-Two Initiative — 12 Comments
PR and APPV – pending Condorcet = RCV done right.
As a twelfth generation Floridian I’m voting yes.
It would be interesting if a 3rd party canidates ever made the top 2 in any top 2 election.
That would be boring. Getting rid of them is why I like top 2. Then we just need to get rid of demoncrats and rhinos.
Top 2 virtually cements the two party system into perpetual existence. Oh, there will be an occasional third party or independent candidate who makes it to the final round, but it will be a remarkable exception whenever it occurs. More likely, if either major party is weak in a top 2 district, the two finalists will be from the same party. A lousy choice, IMO.
I honestly do not appreciate the appeal of these “two-top” initiatives.
The main appeal of the top-2 system seems to be to independent voters who are locked out of closed primaries. Either primaries have to be opened to independent voters if the state pays for them. or closed primaries have to be paid for by the parties.
We’re going to a one or zero party system.
See the advanced minority rule tyrant ROT in CA due to the top 2 primary and the CA gerrymander commission.

NOOOO primaries and gerrymander comms.
PR and APPV
TOTSOP
Top two is good but absolute permanent TRUMP monarchy is even better. All hail TRUMP.
I am a little confused about your methods?
I have to to learn more of this from you! And I’ll link back to this |post right now. Awesome!
