Congressmember Mo Brooks of Alabama is leading an effort in Congress to reject the electoral votes of five states. He represents the Fifth District, which is the northernmost part of Alabama. In November 2020 he had no opponents on the ballot. The Democratic Party chose to run no one against him, and Alabama’s severe ballot access laws prevented any minor party or independent from running against him.
Great man, great ideas.
It should be interesting. The House certainly won’t vote to overturn the election, and its doubtful that the Senate will either, even if the Republicans keep control. There are just enough so-called RINOS to vote against it.
PR in all legislative bodies === NO more unopposed tyrant hacks
No write ins?
Alabama permits write-ins, but the Secretary of State refuses to tally them. Some Alabama counties do keep a record of write-ins, but without a state tally, they are always considered unofficial, and never appear in compilations of election returns.
