Green Party National Committee Decertifies Alaska Green Party — 12 Comments

  1. Richard, How many state affiliates of the Constitution Party did the same thing? New Mexico CP? I had heard one of the Carolinas? National CP doesn’t have the cojones to kick anyone out, though. Perhaps Alaska will form an Independent Green Party like Virginia did.

  2. I can’t blame the national Green Party for decertifying them, but given the difficulty of obtaining ballot access, they may have wanted to try to make amends with them instead.

  3. The Alaska Green Party is not ballot-qualified now. The top-four initiative has made it almost impossible for a third party to be ballot-qualified in Alaska. Only the Alaskan Independence Party is ballot-qualified.

  4. This really doesn’t hurt anyone because they can still run candidates wheather they are affiliated with a national party or not.

  5. How did Blankenship, De La Fuente, Janos (Ventura), Jorgensen, and Pierce get on the Alaska ballot?

  6. John, not being a qualified party does hurt. First, only qualified parties are listed as an option on voter registration forms. Second, only qualified parties are on for president without a petition.

    Jim, all five of them were nominated by parties that submitted a limited political party petition. A limited political party is one that is on for president only. None of them got 3% so they are no longer limited political parties.

  7. I know that the GP has disavowed the Green Party of Rhode Island, and in response turned the “Independent Left” into the “Ocean State Green Party”.

  8. @RW,

    The instructions for the paper form for registration shows a list of political groups.

    If you have any contacts in Alaska, you might have them try the online form.

    Since the paper version of BAN is cited in the Alaska lawsuit, and you are a potential expert witness, you may want to verify that this is true.

    It is not a significant barrier to qualify as a presidential candidate by petition in Alaska. The simple solution is to require all candidates to qualify by petition.

  9. The pure proportional representation Electoral College had write-in status to about nine states and in our 2021 launch we have assigned two Senator Electors of 100 to California.

    Senator Elector Jim Doyle [Republican] and Senator Elector Sarah Rivard [Libertarian] are both coordinating along with votes of confidence for our Chair.

    We welcome all US citizens who are interested in an assignment as Senator Elector from all states.

    We are assigning Congressional districts too;

  10. Just shut up Ogle. You couldn’t even get on the ballot in Vermont, Colorado, and Louisiana, the three easiest states. Your group is a joke just like you.

  11. Isn’t James Ogle a member of the Libertarian party? If so then Libertarian party had ballot access to every U.S. state.
