Which states allow a party to be qualified by getting a certain number of voters to register for that party?
Alaska, California, Delaware, Louisiana, Maine, and Massachusetts. Then there are some other states that let a party remain on if its registration is enough: Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, and Pennsylvania.
Thanks
In PA that registration requirement is 15%. Only 6 or 7 allow maintaining party recognition with a reasonable threshold, and a couple of those have high petition requirement to get on the primary ballot.
Even if a party got 15% of the registrations in PA, which would be super difficult as it would mean over 800,000 registrations, that parties candidates for nomination would then have to do petition drives to get placed on primary ballots.
