  1. I suspect the sponsor of the bill wants to preclude federal interference in Texas elections.

  2. p.s. Schofield should be styled (R-Harris)

Any designation is by county of residence.

  3. Richard:
Is Texas considering to move elections for State Officers (Governor & such) to the year before OR after Presidential elections?

  4. It likely needs some constitutional amendments.

When the gubernatorial term was increased to four years, the election was set to 1974 and every four years thereafter.

It is contradictory for 2022 since the effective date for a 2023 general election is after the filing deadline for the 2022 general election.

  5. Texas [ex- FOREIGN regime] admitted in 1845-1846 crisis with BAAAD Constitution defects re elections.
