Poll Shows Green Party Could Elect Next Chancellor of Germany — 32 Comments

  1. PR system about 95 pct correct.

BUT FATAL standard parl type regime — same hacks having legis and exec powers.

ZERO learned in Europe from 1933-1945 Hitler regime.

  2. And it only cost them their morality, if their militaristic, neoliberal platform is any indication. Not exactly a victory for the international Green Party cause and ideas unfortunately. The Political Compass hasn’t come out with a chart and evaluation for the upcoming German election, but from what I’ve seen the German Greens are at least where they were in 2017’s chart, if not even further to the authoritarian-right.

But, at least this does show that proportional representation is a more democratic electoral system which allows for major changes in the partisan composition of governments, so there’s that.

  3. Finally something I can sink my teeth into!
Note the polling. The center left and center right polling in the 20s.
They are roughly comparable to the dems and reps here in USA.
So there is a left and right party also.
Similar in France. Multiple parties lower polling than in USA.
2 parties with high polling. Pursuant to Duvderger’s Law.
Now, I understand that Bowers’ defense has been granted a three month extension for pretrial motions.
From April 19 to July 19.
PRETRIAL? It has been 2 1/2 YEARS!

  4. They need to just set him, Derek Chauvin, Dylann Roof and all the other political prisoners free.

  5. According to Wikipedia they are doing ok, but not spectacular. Their support hasn’t greatly risen or shrunk.

  6. So we’re just labeling murderers as political prisoners now Jeremy? That’s an insult to actual political prisoners such as Julian Assange.

  7. That would cover Bowers and Roof among others. Since George Floyd died of a drug overdose and natural causes, Chauvin did not even commit homicide at all.

  8. It looks to me like the Merkel coalition is roughly equivalent to if the USA dems and reps formed a coalition.
And please, I would like to keep the Bowers case separate.
It is such a clear cut affirmative defense.
And there seems to be some sort of stalemate going on.
I think Bowers may be refusing to plea bargain.
Maybe he got my letter and is taking my advice.

  9. How about a national police strike to protest the unjust Chauvin verdict? Or maybe we need 100,000 officers to kneel on the necks of savage perps for 9:29 each in solidarity with Officer Chauvin every month until he is freed and given the medal he deserves for doing the right thing. We also need to pass bills in every state making it legal to ram burn loot murder slimeballs with cars.

  10. I note that Darcy Richardson has commented in IPR.
Darcy, when you went on your wild goose chase with the Alliance party, Kevin Zeese took your place at top of my list for fusion ticket with Jo Jorgensen.
Now that Kevin Zeese has “died”, you are back on top.
Would you like to be President or not?

  11. I’m sorry, I don’t know who that is. If he agrees with what I’m saying here, great!

  12. paulie,
I was hoping you had left here for a better place. Where you could make much better use of your talents and time.
To help your people find a place where they can escape the hatred and violence they have brought upon themselves
throughout most of recorded history and around most of the globe.
Let the Palestinians go free. That land is theirs.
A good life could be had in Sinai. If it was cared for and cultivated.
    I envy you, this opportunity,

  13. No. He’s talking about the cyberpig xaulie banali who is pretending to be a patriot above.

  14. Sorry, you lost me. I don’t see anyone pretending to be a patriot above. I do see two Nazi weirdos who think killing Jews is justified. It seems they disagree about blacks.

  15. I agree it’s not patriotic to support mass murderers but the cyberpig, who I suspect is you as well, is trying to connect patriotic nationalists to them.

  16. You’re babbling nonsense. I’m not a Nazi or whoever this person is you’re claiming I am. Backing the blue and securing the existence of our people and a future for our race isn’t socialism, national or otherwise, and I’ve never heard of whoever you’re confusing me with.

  17. Jeremy has a good point. Why don’t the entire police force in USA go on a walkout to support Chauvin?

  18. Why don’t the entire non-govt related population in USA go on a walkout to support mini-govt ???

govt looters now about 40-45 pct of adults

    — elected/appointed hacks /
    govt contractors /
    govt creditors [getting $$ interest),
    welfare folks

ie 60-55 pct NET tax slaves — slaving away for the above.

  19. The Greens are not a third party in Germany. They have an actual chance of winning.

  20. They’re not waiting. They are the second biggest party in Germany already and could well become the biggest party in this year’s election.

  21. Second in the most recent election, 2019 European parliament. They have a governor in one of Germany’s 16 states, second place in several others, and a member of the governing coalition in 11 of those 16 states. So, they’ve already won quite a bit in Germany.

  22. I’m not sure how you are applying Duverger. Germany is not a two party system. There are currently at least 6 parties represented in parliament, European parliament, state governments, etc.

  23. It would be interesting if Germany would stop kissing the former occupied allies ass and allow the NSDAP back on the ballot just to see how much support they would have.
