This article says that Vietnam is holding a national assembly election on May 23, and that 92% of the candidates listed on the ballots are Communist Party members. Some independents are allowed to run, but they must be approved by a group that is largely controlled by the Communist Party.
Democracy inaction.
Sounds like most places on the US West Coast or Northeast states nowadays.
@Freddy…… cute, the wittle nationalist thinks they said something intelligent.
What he said was more intelligent than your lame putdown attempt
ANY OF OLDE 1954-1975 S. VIETNAM REGIME FOLKS STILL ALIVE — IN A COMMIE RE-EDUCATION SLAVE CAMP ???
Yes, and some of them in camp California.
Actually Freddy is right about Massachusetts. The vast majority of candidates for all offices are Democrats. Republicans, independents and other parties have to run a gauntlet of petition and report filings to qualify. Only a handful make it; never enough to change the outcome of the election. Many offices go uncontested.
Well put, Freddy and Walter.
