Organised felony looting by criminal gangs is being investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. It may or may not be a coincidence that it happened in a state with downgrading of individual petty theft, but count on a Rupert Murdoch outlet to assume that it’s not a coincidence and milk it for a sensational headline.

  15. Demo rep’s first sentence at 8:41 is correct. It doesn’t answer Jay’s question from earlier this morning or address the points raised by Way or Yog. Is Demo Rep trying to say that all looter gangs everywhere are “red commie”? All looter gangs in California? Please elaborate.

  16. As for his question in the same post, no one knows the answer. By phrasing it as a question, demo rep gives himself the ability to deny that he implied “a lot.” The real answer is probably “not much more than other US states, adjusted proportionally to volume.”

  17. Looter gangs using the same MO have now struck in Illinois, and maybe some other states. Do those states also have downgraded prosecution for petty theft? Are looter gangs also striking anywhere that doesn’t have such downgrade? Demo rep should really cut through all the loaded questions and inuendo and tell us what he thinks the answers to his questions are, along with questions others ask him.

In those left wing states, are left wingers the only ones doing the rioting? Are there riots outside his window now? Does he have a window? Of the states Demo Rep thinks are or contain “rioter/looter areas,” what portion of those states are within those areas?

    I don’t know this for a fact, but my guess is exactly zero.

  29. What percentage of looters of local stores are “black donkey Democrats”? I have no idea. California is a pretty multiracial state. They could easily be any race or nationality.

    The articles I’ve seen had speculation that they were carried out by gangs involved in drug trafficking, human trafficking and other organized crime activity. Again, many nationalities, ethnicities and races involved in that, especially in a state like California.

    As for their politics, they could be anything, or more likely nothing. A lot of people think all politics is bullsh1t. A lot of criminals do, for sure.

    So, again, instead of a bunch of innuendo and loaded questions, maybe it would be better if demo rep started by answering his own questions, much less other people’s.

  38. The wikipedia article about Detroit doesn’t sound like it’s on a decline path. If anything, it sounds like it’s being revitalized. I read through the history and neighborhoods sections just now.

    The smash and grab organized crime thefts are not looting under California law. They are not taking place during a riot or natural disaster, and are being addressed through existing legal means. And also through expansion of pedestrian zones in retail districts. The crime is also cyclical. Demo Rep is jumping to a lot of conclusions and wild exagerations and conflating a lot of things above.
