What is a so-called centrist in 2022 ???
@az… Could be “radical centrist” meaning they take anything they deem to be a good idea from anywhere on the political spectrum; which averages out to the center. Or could be a more principled centrist that means either an authoritarian centrist (socially conservative and economically collectivist) or a liberal centrist (socially liberal and economically liberal; aka capitalist).
It seems more and more in the modern era the term “centrist” is starting to mean predominately either “radical centrist” or a liberal centrist. Most Authoritarian centrists are starting to be swallowed up by the Republican Party (and partially the authoritarian wing of the Democratic Party).
A centrist is codeword for communist.
A centrist is a Republican who is too cowardly to admit it.
