On September 2, Rick Becker, a North Dakota Republican state legislator, submitted a petition to be on the November ballot as an independent candidate for U.S. Senate. He needed 1,000 signatures and submitted approximately 2,000. See this story.

I heard there was a former Miss America running for US House in North Dakota. Did she submit petition signatures yet?
If not, maybe she will submit signatures on Monday since that is the deadline.
Hurry up and go help her and maybe you’ll get a date.
One is a US senate candidate, one is a US House candidate.
Date? I thought Andy Gonzalez did not like girls that way.
Here’s a question for Richard Winger. Do you consider an independent candidate a third party candidate?
The petition requirement for independent candidates comes out to about 0.13% of the state population (1,000 / 780,000) and the deadline is September 6. (according to Ballotpedia)
Compare to other states – the percent, the actual amount, the deadline.
I consider independent candidates a separate category than minor party candidates. Generally I don’t use the term “third party candidates.”
Would the cyberpig be a third party if Andy Gonzalez and Miss North Dakota went on a candy date?
My daughter is not allowed to date Mexicans.
I thought Andy was the gay and the cyberpig was the bisexual between the two? Is it the other way around? Who wears the pants?
ND has good rules for Inds, but not for third parties.
So what you are saying is the cyberpig would be screwed but not in a good way?
Miss North Dakota’s Father – Good man
In a few years the Mexicans will outnumber the humans.
They should be eliminated like the cockroaches they are before that happens.
Thank you Mr. Winger for answering my question. I’m going to start using minor party too.
In Russia negroes are called “coal miners”.
