On January 31, the Michigan House passed SB 13, the bill to move the presidential primary from March to February. The bill now goes to the Governor, who is expected to sign it. Thanks to FrontloadingHQ for this news.

    BUT NO IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

    MAY NOT BE IN FORCE FOR EARLY 2024.

    LIKELY MORE MACHINATIONS – DATE / GOP RULES, ETC.

  2. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Republicans opt out of the earlier primary. I think they can do that in Michigan.

  3. Another useless waste of time. The party which wins the general election should pick who all the office holders are. How they do so should be up to that party. Yes, it really should be that simple.
