Mulling Over a New Policy for Comments

Ballot Access News has always allowed comments on blog posts, and these comments have hugely benefited me. Sometimes the commenters point out a factual error I had made. Sometimes they alert me and all readers of relevant important news.

Lately, though, most comments are comments about other commenters. So I am thinking of a policy in which I will delete comments unless they pertain to the particular blog post. It would be best if people would just voluntarily stop making comments that aren’t about the blog post.

  2. Discussions naturally meander. Rather than making discussion less open please consider the c0mment systems used at !nfowars and reason (dot) c0m/latest. I put such ideologically disparate sites because their ideological bent is not my point.

    If you want to look a bit closer to home, look at the precipitous decline of 1PR . That has happened as they instituted id!otic c0mm!e c0mment cens@rsh1p policy, comment appearing delays, and now sov1et style c@nsorship under Cha!rman George Phi11ies. The less open the c0mment policy the less engagement, therefore readership and links back and sharing thereof on s0cial m3dia and over email, text, etc, and the less influential the site as a whole. The K@ren’s who complained about certain c0mments and c0mmenters never came back, never brought in new people, and existing freedom minded independent thinkers went elsewhere.

  10. My name is not important, but if it were, it would not be Paul. I think the Paul you are probably referring to is from what my sources say in Taba, Sinai, Egypt. Once in a while he can , catch Wi-Fis from Eilat in Israel, Aqaba in Jordan, or Haql in Saudi Arabia, but most of the time he has no Wi-Fis at all. We don’t know what he does at those times. I did this “job” as a volunteer and all it did was help ruin a great forum, waste my time, and cause me to become even more anxiety ridden beyond psycho levels where eye can no longer maintain. I’m not worth anything anymore anyways. And it’s not not not not not a job anyone should have whether they get paid or not. All those judgement calls only hurt the person making them and the site they manage or own.

    Let’s be REAL. This policy will do nothing but waste your time, and your time is valuable. People who can’t scroll past comments they don’t like are not functioning adults. There’s plenty of forum software that lets people block people they don’t want to read. Why not try that rather than ruin it for those who are more tolerant and open minded?

    I’m not a cop. I’ve never liked cops. I am not on pcp. I used to be back when I was a teen but not recently. I’m a SOMETIMES recovering and sometimes uncontrolled addict. I agree with whoever compared me to Artie Lange. I was watching dark side of comedy on vice and they compared his new nose with the babewatch segment he did for mad tv, where he played babe the pig meets the Baywatch babes. He would look himself in the mirror backstage, say I am a pig over and over while doing more and more coke up his nose. He played the role perfectly but at great cost to his own mental and physical health. He was another John Belushi, John Candy, Chris Farley type. I identify with those guys a lot. Except way less popular or successful but still.

    What I identify with the most is artie now having the babewatch nose in real life and being spotted pumping gas for a living and accepting tips in New Jersey. This is after a career that had him on national t.v., a recurring spot on the Howard Stern show, major movie roles, comedy specials etc …but it would be a big step up for me now, because it is at least a paying job, and I only wish I was in the Sinai. I haven’t had a paying job in 3 years and I’m frankly not worth anyone paying anything to do anything or nothing.

    Politics is dumb. People should talk about politics on all fours by grunting like pigs. Anything else dignifies rooting at the trough and whatever comes out of the other end. Politics only has value as comedy if it has any value at all. Life is full of beauty, but that’s not for everyone. Some of us like to pick at scabs and enjoy pain.

I make you think I’m speaking for a lot more people than I am because other people who disagree with me don’t bother to speak up. They’ll just go somewhere else if I get my way .     None of that is an easy call despite what you might think. Things can questionably pertain to ballot access or to another side issue emanating from ensuing discussion and then perhaps meander back to ballot access in ways that would not have occurred if the comment ecosystem had not been artificially curtailed and disrupted. I’m NS also but I’m an environmentalist like the original NS were. There are many parallels to ecosystem in comments ecosystems. Disrupting the balances of nature can cause many unforeseen consequences.

    Political beliefs naturally attack each other. An antiseptic hospital of a comment environment will lose many valuable voices. Opinions which don’t support ballot access may be necessary to engage to strengthen the case for ballot access through adversity. Adversity builds strength.

    Commies are indeed very prevalent. Most of them hide in plain sight as liberals, and some even as conservatives. And questioning anything and everything, including the objectivity of forum ownership or management and the validity of their sources can also be valuable.

    Intelligence is likewise subjective, although it is true that untermenschen need to be measured somehow and cleansed out of the gene pool, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves here. Reactionary is not in itself necessarily a bad thing; reactionary autoimmune response is a natural defense against attack by hostile foreign invaders such as virii, bacteria, vermin, ETC.

The two concepts, of ballot or voting access for small parties which represent unpopular viewpoints, and of unencumbered speech for unpopular views in general , seem to me to be closely related both in practice and in spirit. If I was American I might be sufficiently motivated to create a competing discussion forum. To do that I would first seek to clearly define what BAN does. It covers voting access to be sure, but also small parties themselves to some extent, systems of government and governance to some extent, and even the bigger parties to some extent. There is a heavy emphasis on the minutia of byzantine legal and legislative bureaucracy which rather obviously cry out for radical simplification.

    Given that I am not American, the discussion I find most valuable here is that of systems of government in general concept. However, I’ve been disappointed in the quality of discussion. AZ seems rather stuck to a very particular and rather obviously wrong set of proposals which he doesn’t bother to defend against criticism, try to persuade anyone to consider seriously, or even condescend to explain much in his self created delusions of grandeur. He comes off as both a narcissist and a loser, perhaps with a Napoleonic chip on his shoulder or in some other portion of him. Few others bother to engage concepts of governance in any real detail, particularly when ideas outside their concept box are presented.

    The quickest solutions to commenters annoying each other aren’t even explored or considered. These would include the ability to reply to comments in a stacked format and the ability for individual participants to block other individual participants and not see what they spout, rather than demanding everyone else reading be so blocked. I presented examples of other fora which manage this dilemma better, not for their ideological content, but for their comment management system’s. Unfortunately, none of those fora replicate the subject focus of this one.

    So, if I had more than a passing interest in talking to Americans outside of business context or the expatriates and visitors from your country in Moscow, Russia, I might combine the superior comment management system’s found at sites ranging from infowars (a superior source of real news), reason.com (a leftist cosmotarian rag), and many local to international news sites with the subject matters of BAN.

    THERE is also the already extant XIPR, which is better than IPR, or at least better than IPR today (I’ve seen people say very strongly that it was much better many years ago), but not better then RT (formerly Russia Today), if only because of the rather obvious lack of funds to hire full time staff. It could also be better than BAN if the latter adopts a communistic comment control protocol. Or, perhaps someone ought to create an XBAN or VAN (VOTING ACCESS NEWS) since voting ought not involve ballots. I might have if I was American, or if I didn’t have a business to run.

    In any case, I will let you American people muller how much freedom you can tolerate. Our traditions are not yours, and cultural, ethnic, and human genetic biodiversity demands a healthy respect for the rights of others who seek to manage their lebensraum without infringing on the territory of their neighbors, does it not?

    It seems to me that considerations of bias, including that of owners or managers and their news sources, is valuable. It is certainly valuable to point out the ulterior agenda of commentaters who openly or rather obliquely carry the water for the most mass murderous ideology of the 19th and 20th centuries, borgian communism, or what threatens to be even far more mass murderous in the 21st, the soylent green depopulation agenda of the elitist globalist scum, and the overarching demonic SATANISM they both exist in thrall to.

    I’m afraid I’ve now exceeded the attention span of your American attention deficit disorder culture, so am unlikely to be read or considered seriously by you yanks or yankees or yankers, as it were. I can however expound at greater length if further interest does in fact exist.   135. At age of 64, older women would obviously be 65 and up. However, a 20 year old would not call a 21 year old a milf, even though she is technically an older woman. The concept of older woman then clearly implies a significant age difference to the upside, much like milf. A woman in her 80s or 90s could legitimately be an older woman or milf to a guy who is sixty four years oooold.

    Mae West was a rather exceptional woman, even in her 80s, which is why Robert has to reach back in time to a woman who died in 1980 for an example. If Mae West was alive now she would be one hundred and twenty nine years old, or technically speaking older than dirt. A woman of 40 years would obviously not be a milf or older woman to Robert, as she would be young enough to be his daughter. Even a woman of 50 years would be like his daughter than his sister in her age.
