    As to the ON question, Michigan does not permit parties to change their names. That is why the Constitution Party is still called the U.S. Taxpayers Party in Michigan, even though the national U.S. Taxpayers Party changed its name to the Constitution Party in 1999. All the other states in which the U.S. Taxpayers Party as on at the time let the party name change go ahead, but not Michigan. The Michigan branch of the party thought about suing, but never did.

11. Precisely,which is why it might make sense for a would be national party to take oover a ghost party such as natural law, which I think still is recognized in Michigan but nowhere else.

12. Also, I just noticed another thing in the article above which was either not there before or I overlooked it earlier – you said Michigan Common Sense is not affiliated, as I assumed, with California’s Common Sense.
