Oregon Ranked Choice Bill Passes Legislature

On Sunday, June 25, the last day of the Oregon legislative session, the legislature passed HB 2004. It asks the voters if they wish to use ranked choice voting for federal and state primaries and general elections, except legislative elections would not be covered. Here is the text.

    How many competitive legislative elections with 3 or more candidates are there in Oregon? Are they afraid of something?

  2. Anyway, political parties should be given the option of what kind of voting they want to use in their own primaries. They should be free to choose between 1. ranked choice, 2. approval, or plurality voting, at the least.
