Opponents of No Labels Presidential Idea Are Briefing Democratic Members of Congress

The Hill has this article about efforts by opponents of the No Labels presidential candidate idea to brief Democratic members of Congress about why they are so opposed to the plan. The opponents include the groups Move On and Third Way. Thanks to Thomas Jones for the link.

There are attempts being made to persuade the public that the No Labels’ presidential plan is illegitimate. For example, see this article at Real Clear Politics, written by Frank Donatelli and Leslie C. Francis. It is titled “The Threat To Our Two-Party Democracy.”

The authors are misusing the definition of “two-party system.” That phrase was coined in 1911 to describe the British party system. It means a system in which two parties are much larger than all the other parties. It doesn’t mean a system that only has two parties.

Opponents of No Labels Presidential Idea Are Briefing Democratic Members of Congress — 24 Comments

  1. As I pointed out earlier, the “center” left, self purported center, and neverTrump “right” are actually all the leftist deep state uniparty, and the no lube scam poaches from their likely voter pool (they have nothing to bring out new voters), whereas Trump is an existential challenge to them. Therefore, they oppose both with apocalyptic passion. This adds to my optimism that no lube will in fact help Trump make an even deeper and more painful impact in their collectivist posterior, one that even all the computers and programmers in China and all the mules in America couldn’t salve without starting another revolution.

MooOn, Turd Way, Donatelli and Francis may disagree about some minor policy details, but they agree about the big picture stuff. They’re fine with having two allegedly separate major parties, so long as their kind remains in charge no matter who wins. The people behind no lube basically agree, but think they can actually win in their own right. As far as that particular fantasy goes, I largely agree with the analysis by Francis, Donatelli, MooOn, Tired Way, et al; I’ll quibble on details, but their main thesis is essentially correct, apart from their being dead wrong on electing Trump again being a bad thing.

  2. There are about 70 million reasons the deep state uniparty is more worried about No Lube than the existing third parties. And a couple billion more why they really can’t stand Donald Trump.

  3. This shows, of course, that the Democrat Party is the actual centrist party in the US.

  4. Nonsense. The center is now somewhere between Donald Trump Sr. and Donald Trump Jr. The Democrats are the left wing of the uniparty. Further left are potemkin village unicorns and rainbows just in front of the gulags and killing fields, and furthest left are the gates of hell. Left past that, you’ll only see when you enter those.

  5. BOTH D AND R GANGS ARE ANTI-DEMOCRACY MONARCH/OLIGARCH STATIST GANGS —

BOTH LOVING UN-DECLARED FOREIGN WARS AND DEFICITS AND MORE REGIME DEBT AND INFLATION

VIA UNEQUAL BALLOT ACCESS LAWS AND MINORITY RULE GERRYMANDER SYSTEMS

  6. Says the guy who wanted to invade Switzerland in WWII, keep US troops in Afghanistan forever, and now wants WWIII with nukes with Russia over Ukraine. No need to worry about debt, inflation, ballot access, gerrymandering, monarchies, oligarchs, gangs, or democracy if that last one comes to pass. Then we all get to see what’s to the left of the gates of hell.

  8. It isn’t. It’s actually by a lawyer from Texas who is a dirty commie. His real name wasn’t hard to find. Took me a few minutes, but I forgot it soon thereafter. It is not anything I feel motivated to do twice. Anyone who actually cares, if such people exist, can do the same thing. I’m a man of peace myself, and not interested in being a public person. You can claim I’m whoever you want, and I don’t care, but if anyone wants to know, you can look up Socratic gadfly blogger real name or something along those lines. Not so difficult. Investigation, of course, is in the shadows, like me, and like your local invisible empire of the KKK. Anonymity can be good or bad. I’ll drink to that.

  9. DOES PUTRID AWFUL TROLL PICK RANDOM P/A/T WORDS OUT OF A TROLL SEWER TO BE CUTE EACH DAY ???

    P-A-T REFORMS

  10. I’ll reserve comments about the previous posts but the reason I’m concerned about the no-labels party is that it seems to be funded by people who don’t even want it to win. I’ve fought for third-party rights for years, both right and left wing, and have been a subscriber for over 40 years; but I believe this party is a fake and should not be supported.

  11. Putrid awful troll Anus Zombie, they are recognized acronyms for PAT, not random words. Thanks for noticing I’m cute, but we’re still not going out on a date.

  12. Seriously AZ, leave her alone! While we are at it please stop shitting yourself and being a retard.

  13. I think they actually want to stop Trump from winning, but the only way they can do that is if they actually win. They’re realistic enough to where it probably means they won’t run anyone at all. But, since I do want Trump to win, I hope they miscalculate, run someone, and do exactly what the Democrats fear: help Trump win.

  14. I don’t think they want to win as much as they want Trump to lose. I agree with Pat.
