This decision is not a permanent decision to not use Ranked Choice Voting in the future, but it is a temporary setback for election reformers. Here is a story from The Virginia Mercury.

You would think a commie county would love using RCV, which elects commies.
ANY COMMIE COUNTY ELECTING FASCISTS — BY ANY MEANS ???
ANY FASCIST COUNTY ELECTING COMMIES — BY ANY MEANS ???

P-A-T
ELECT BOTH COMMIES AND FASCISTS IN ALL COUNTIES ???
LIVE FIGHTS IN TV MEETINGS ???- HIGH TV RATINGS ???
Well, good on them for the successful experiment! It made a difference in the results, too. Cunningham and Roy would’ve won under First-Past-The-Post, but Cunningham and Coffey won under Single-Transferable-Vote. Of course, voters could’ve voted differently if they had to only pick one.
Yes Tom, RCV obviously favors commies, I mean “commie” starts with C, and our two winners Cunningham and Coffey also start with C, so there’s obviously something going on here. Since your name starts with T, which is far away from C in the alphabet, you wouldn’t stand a chance. As it turns out, my last name also starts with C, so that must be why I support RCV. (lol)
Commies are just like fascists, only more extreme. Both are leftist scum.
