The Libertarian Party needs to get their act together. The 2024 presidential election is a good time for them to shine and get votes.
The Libertarian Party should nominate an actual Llibertarian, something they haven’t done since 2004.
The other option is to cross endorse Trump.
State parties are licensed, that is, “recognized” to have candidates access the ballot by state election authorities. National LP Bylaws state that state parties are autonomous. That means each party can by LP bylaws and state election laws decide what symbolic image for the party the state shall print on the ballot. That image can be used for general publicity as well.
In my opinion as the Chair of the Bylaws Committee at the founding convention of the LP, this LNC is out of bounds suing Michigan LP officials over any image whatsoever.
Another political party might contest an LPM image with state election authorities, but not the LNC.
Legal fees being wasted by this LNC would be better allocated to the abolition of ballot access censorship laws.
