Republican Presidential Debate Will Include Eight Candidates

The first 2024 Republican presidential primary debate will be held Wednesday, August 23. Eight candidates qualified. They needed 1% in the polls plus at least 40,000 individual donors.

By contrast, the last time there were Republican presidential primary debates, in 2016, there were ten candidates in the main debate. Also there was a preliminary debate with seven other candidates.

The eight who will participate on August 23 are Doug Burgum, Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Asa Hutchinson, Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Tim Scott.

  1. Perry Johnson apparently qualified but was not invited. Anyone know why?

My bet is Trump & Tucker will get more viewers than Tiny D and the seven dwarves. Then throw in the Trump mugshots the next day in the Atlanta kangaroo court persecution of President Trump and the Lazy Fox RNC snoozefest will get very little replay on top of the original low ratings.

  2. Regarding Perry Johnson, according to some discussions I’ve seen, the issue was at first thought to be some Trafalgar polls. Officially, though, apparently “they claimed a national poll wasn’t a national poll because it only sampled in 38 states.”

I’ve not verified that, but regardless, though I don’t support Perry Johnson, I definitely think he should be allowed to debate.

  3. I’m watching the debates. Why? We know where Trump stands on the issues. I want to see who might be his VIP from them squabbling. Always a chance. We know it’s not Pence. Thank god.

  4. Tucker Carlson or Don Jr would be way more likely than any of those clowns. I’ll be watching Tucker and Trump.

  5. ANY OLDE GOOD MOVIES / OLDE TV SHOWS NEXT FEW POLITICS AUGUST DOG DAYS —-

    AVOID ELEPHANT SO-CALLED DEBATE

AVOID TRUMP GANGSTERS AT GA JAIL
    ETC ETC ETC

    P-A-T

  6. I’m boycotting Tiny D and the seven dwarves lazy fox snoozefest to protest the discrimination against Perry Johnson and watching the two future Presidents Trump and Tucker tomorrow!

  7. I think that Larry Elder should have been included. I read that he will be filing a law suit about his exclusion.

  8. He was not included in enough polls or did not poll 1%. Trump also didn’t qualify because he refused to sign to support the nominee if it’s not him. He’ll be the nominee but he’s keeping options open just in case. Good for him!

  9. Elder and Perry Johnson are both suing with claims they actually qualified, and Suarez also believes he qualified.

  10. Fake news. Not only that, but the ham handed manipulation of data is unusually easy to spot. See if you can do it without help.

  11. Did Trump sign the loyalty oath? If he didn’t, my understanding is that he is not qualified for the debate.
